One of the tragic consequences of influencer culture is that we have become conditioned to think that the length of the line is a measure of a product’s quality, creating an out-of-control positive feedback loop. I wrote about this phenomenon, and its effect on Apollo Bagels, and subsequently the West Village block that it resides on.
